This Hair Straightener Hack Is Mind-Blowing
By now, you've probably heard about the awesome trick for creating beachy curls with a straightener (maybe you've even tried it yourself!), or perhaps you've seen our tutorial on how to get just the right bend in your hair for foolproof waves. But just when we thought there was no other possible way of being able to curl/wave hair with a flatiron, we stumbled across this completely game-changing tutorial on how to create the "Scandinavian wave." Check it out below!
Nicci Welsh
The serpentine movement of each section of hair to create the wave is something we hadn't thought of before, but it makes so much sense. Also, who knew tapping your flatiron a few times on your strands could create that much of a bend? Needless to say, we're completely impressed.
Refinery 29 caught up with Oribe Hair Care education ambassador Nicci Welsh, who demonstrated the technique at Front Row, a hair conference in Miami. When asked about the waves, Welsh explained, "I made it up, because in Denmark, we want this minimalistic beach look."She also said that while the popular "up-and-down" method of curling hair with a straightener gives volume, she wanted the look to be flatter.
Whatever the reasoning is behind the look, we can't wait to break out our flatirons and give it a try. Might we suggest using the tool below for trying it yourself?
