Hailey and Justin Bieber are a couple of celebrities who have grasped fame and fortune at an exceedingly young age; Justin just turned 25 on March 1 and Hailey is a mere 22 years-old. They hang out with the biggest names in pop culture (Hailey has her fellow supermodel friends and Justin has his impressive music industry connections), dress in the most expensive designer clothes, and their take on engagement photos involved the release of a romantic Vogue cover. For them, the word famous might be an understatement.
Despite all of this fanfare and attention, it seems as though they're really just like any other married couple I know, because according to Hailey's recent interview with Marie Claire, they both reach for the exact same shampoo in the shower. (If you ask me, the consolidation of beauty routines is a hallmark of marriage and one of the only true tests of compatibility and comfort). The product in question is a cleansing and color-maintaining shampoo from the haircare brand Unite. Funnily enough, it also happens to be a personal favorite...
"I’m trying to let my hair grow out right now. It’s a very awkward length that I don’t particularly like, and for the last three years, I haven’t had the patience to let it be," Bieber tells the publication. "I toned it darker recently, just so I could give it a break for a second, because bleaching it is harsh. If I could be platinum forever, I would be, but it’s just so damaging. On most days, I pull it back and use Mane ’n Tail Leave-in Conditioner as my hairspray to nourish it and prevent breakage but still look styled. My husband, Justin, and I actually share the same Unite shampoo in our shower."
While Bieber only mentions the brand, and not which specific shampoo she's referring to, it seems safe enough to assume that it's Unite's BLONDA Daily Shampoo, which is a color-safe shampoo formulated specifically for blonde hair (like that of the Bieber couple). It can be used daily to keep blonde hair bright and moisturized in-between regular toning jobs.
Justin Bieber's hairstylist once revealed that he recommends the pop star use the brand's toning shampoo to maintain his freshly-dyed blonde hair. This is a bright purple shampoo that gently strips away dark yellow and orange tones from light hair and highlights, keeping them fresh and bright (not dull and brassy). It's a product I've used myself over the course of many months in order to maintain my blonde highlights. Since, I'm tragically lazy when it comes to hair color upkeep, it's kind of the perfect product for me.
Plus, I can see a visible difference in the tone of my hair when I go a week or two without it.
Use it once a week for at least 60 seconds to gently strip away brassy tones from your hair. On the other 6 days of the week (depending on how often you choose to shampoo), opt for the aforementioned Daily Shampoo, which will brighten your blonde even further, while moisturizing your hair and soothing your scalp.
Haircare is where the couple's sharing stops. Hailey gave the low-down on her current skincare routine, saying "I moisturize with a cream by Dr. Barbara Sturm that’s formulated with my blood, so I don’t think he wants to put something that was made from my body on himself." Aside from her personalized "blood cream," she swears by Barbara Sturm's Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($300). It's insanely expensive, but it's an industry favorite for gently hydrating and plumping the skin.
