How Green Tea Can Help Our Skin

Green tea can benefit your skin both when you drink it and when you apply topical products containing the ingredient. Green tea is rich in antioxidants, specifically ones called ECGCs, which protect the skin from inflammation and skin aging, and calms skin prone to redness. Most skin care products that utilize green tea contain a green tea extract like Madre Labs Camellia Care Concentrated Green Tea Skin Cream ($23) or Once Upon a Tea Green Tea Matcha Mud Mask ($16).

As mentioned, green tea is chock full of antioxidants which means it can calm skin inflammation. Acne is a sign of inflammation in the skin so using a skin care product with green tea in it will help to calm acne-prone skin. All skin types can benefit from drinking green tea or using green tea skin care products, even those with the most sensitive skin.
