Name a beauty brand with an aesthetic more appealing to millennials than Glossier. We'll wait. Seriously though, any product launch that comes from the cult-favorite brand is met with anticipation and enthusiasm. The last product to join the Glossier ranks was their Wowder ($35), an airy and pigmented loose finishing powder. Before that, it was the Cloud Paint ($18), which is a cream blush formula that comes in three different flushed-cheek shades.
Now we have another product launch on our hands. The brand has just announced not one but two new products have joined its ranks. This time it isn't for your face; it's for your body. They already have a well-rounded line of serums, moisturizer, and balm, but now they're putting focus past the face by introducing a brand-new oil wash and body cream collectively called Body Hero $35. First let's talk about the oil cleaner. The Daily Oil Wash ($18) is formulated with a blend of different oils like coconut, meadowfoam, olive, soybean, grapeseed, and sunflower seed.
It's promised to visibly soften and smooth skin while cleansing away dirt, sweat, and grime. If you're worried about an oil-slick feel, don't be. It starts out as an oil but quickly transforms into a soft foam.
Next is the Daily Perfecting Cream ($22). According to the press release, this product was inspired by the rich, nourishing moisturizers that are usually reserved only for your face. The good people of Glossier decided to change that by formulating this one with a number of good-for-skin, super-hydrating ingredients.
These ingredients include tamarind extract, which is filled with magnesium, potassium, and hydrating AHAs. There's also a desert plant blend that provides your skin with antioxidants, and Evodia Rutaecarpa Fruit Extract Complex, which brightens the skin with every use. The best part? It has light-reflecting particles to give your skin an out-of-this-world glow. (Who said a highlight was just for your face?)
We're definitely excited to try the new Body Hero products, but can we also take a minute to applaud their campaign imagery? The ad campaign is fresh, diverse, and real.
Instead of featuring models with just one body type, the brand decided to feature strong, beautiful women like Olympic gold medalist Swim Cash, plus-size model and Pat McGrath–muse Paloma Elsessar, cool girl and creative director of clothing brand LPA, Lara Pia Arrobio, and more.
It's beyond refreshing to see the brand taking such a strong stance on the importance of representation in the beauty industry. And we have to say, these images make us want to buy the product even more.
