The WNBA Players in Glossier's New Campaign Tell Us All Their Skincare Secrets

Glossier, Body Hero

If you know Glossier, you know the Glossier look is all about skin—dewy, natural, and glowing skin in all its glory. The brand's latest launch aims to make your body just as glowy as your face. The Body Hero Exfoliating Bar ($14) and Dry Touch Oil Mist ($28) are here to save your dry skin this winter and make you shower experience a bit more luxurious. The exfoliating bar gently buffs away dirt and dead skin while locking in moisture, while the dry oil is a post-shower treat that not only moisturizes, but evens skin tone. Not to mention, this duo smells just as good as they feel; both are scented with a vacation-ready Orange Blossom Neroli Blend.

To introduce the duo, the brand teamed up with a group of women who work hard and play even harder—WNBA players. The launch campaign features eight WNBA players including Sue Bird, Seimone Augustus, and Lexie Brown.

Key Ingredients

The bar uses bamboo powder for a gentle and sustainable polish, that is biodegradable and won’t clog your drain. Vitamin E and linoleic acid (vitamin F) lock in moisture while aloe leaf juice hydrates and soothes skin.

We caught up exclusively with a few of the players in the campaign and asked them about their off-court rituals, beauty routines, and how they're dealing with the pandemic while still competing. First, is New York Liberty player Amanda Zahui B., whose pre-game ritual includes two showers and keeping her head of curls (now red) in place until it’s time to hit the gym. "The bar is something I use in the shower and I feel brand new after I use it," she says of the Glossier Hero Exfoliating Bar. "I use it all over my body and then I use my shower gloves to really scrub it in my body. I use the oil after I've dried off on my towel and spray it all over my body."

Spending time in the "bubble" has been all about treating her body and getting in the right mental space and of course, bonding with her teammates. Her self-care routine ranges from a long shower to a nice meal and even putting on makeup and going out (socially distant, of course). The key, to her is, "making sure that I am smiling, that my soul is smiling. And whatever my soul needs that specific days is what I should feed her."

Chicago Sky player Stefanie Dolson’s pregame routine "usually consists of my game day makeup—light coverage but a full face so I look good when I play!" Her post-game routine is to make sure she's always washing or cleansing her face. "I go through all my steps of beauty, cleansing my face, hydrating my face, doing some kind of mask, eyebrows...and just feeling pampered," she shares.

Glossier's new Body Hero products have been her skin savior as the temperatures dip. "I naturally have dry, bumpy skin but after using the Exfoliating Bar my skin always feels super soft," she says. "Then, adding on the Dry Oil has just added another layer of moisture to my skin!" Who else is layering up on body skincare this winter?
