Get The Look: Camilla Belle

“I’ve always thought Camilla looked a lot like Elizabeth Taylor,” says makeup artist Brett Freedman. “So with her new haircut I wanted to do a Cat on a Hot Tin Roof makeup look.” He prepped Belle’s skin with Dermalogica’s Active Moist Lotion ($56) then reached for Laura Mercier’s Silk Crème Foundation ($43).

Freedman applied Benefit’s Fake Up Concealer ($24) under Belle’s eyes and set her skin with Coty’s Loose Translucent Face Powder ($7). “This concealer is super moisturizing,” he says.

Instead of blush, Freedman applied Stila’s Convertible Color ($25) in Lillium in the hollows of Belle’s cheekbones and Lorac’s Perfectly Lit Oil-Free Luminizing Powder ($32) in Luminous on top of her cheekbones.

Pink can be tricky to wear on your eyes, so Freedman suggests layering a few products to make the look polished. He created a wash of color using M.A.C.’s Eye Shadow ($15) in Embrace Me around Belle’s top and bottom lash line and crease, topped with loose powder, then the brand’s shadow in Crystal Avalanche.

“This look is all about a full brow and lash,” says Freedman. He applied Ardell’s Individual Lashes ($4) in the short length to the middle of Belle’s lash line, and the medium length to the outside of her eyes, then added L’Oreal’s Voluminous Mascara ($8) and lightly curled her real and faux lashes together. He disguised any lash glue with Too Faced’s 3-Way Lash Lining Tool ($22), flicking the eyeliner up at the end.

For a natural brow, Freedman recommends choosing a shade lighter than your brows. But if it’s drama you’re after, follow his lead and match the pencil to your brows exactly. Freedman used a pencil from his own line of brow products--Vanity Mark’s Brow Pencil ($16) in Dark Choco. “Brush your brow with a spooley or clean mascara wand as you build the color to keep it even,” he says.

Freedman applied Too Faced La Crème Lipstick ($21) in Marshmallow Bunny for a delicate, cotton-candy pink pout.

Hairstylist Bertrand W. and Belle have been plotting a drastic haircut for a while--the final decision being a long bob. “This cut allows for a lot of versatility,” Bertrand W. says. “It’s a square cut with very long layers just below her chin.” For texture he added Fekkai’s Advanced Coiff Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray ($23) to the actress’ towel-dried locks.

To protect Belle’s new cut from heat damage, Bertrand W. applied Fekkai’s Defense Pre-Style Thermal UV Protectant ($25) and rough-dried her locks with his hands. Once her hair was fully dry he created curls with a one-inch iron, keeping the actress’ roots pressed against her scalp to keep the style sleek.

Bertrand W. raked his hands through Belle’s locks and gently shook her hair out before adding a dose of Rene Furterer’s Glossing Spray ($23).
