Your beauty icons:
Violette (@violette_fr) is definitely a modern beauty icon for me. I love her super-elegant take on beauty tutorials. She’s a master at what she does, and yet she’s still super natural and effortless. I’d like to be as good as her when it comes to makeup.
The skincare products you can’t live without:
There are quite a few: My Clinique balm to remove makeup—it transforms into a sort of oil when you apply it to your face and it really takes off everything—even heavy makeup from photo shoots—in one swipe without irritating the skin, which is a big thing for me. The whole Dior Capture Youth serum pack: I use them on a day-to-day basis to nourish and protect my skin. They’re also a good base for makeup. And the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil Serum—it really regenerates the skin.
The hair products you can’t live without:
Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Shampoo and Conditioner: They leave my hair super soft and silky. After that, I use the Ouai Hair Oil on my lengths to make my hair even shinier. And Tigi Bedhead thickening spray, which I use whenever I like to give some texture to my hair. I also use a little bit of that spray to style my bangs.
The makeup products you can’t live without:
My routine is the following: I use some concealer from Glossier to cover my dark circles, I do a mini contouring with bronzer, and then I use blush to make me look “sun-kissed” (I use a combo of this bronzing powder and this blush from Tom Ford on a day-to-day basis). I also use a lipstick from MAC every day (in a raspberry shade) to give my lips a “bitten” effect. I like to keep it natural and fresh. Sometimes I’ll go a little bit bolder and do a smoky eye with a pink eye shadow palette from Dior and big lashes with an Eyeko mascara.
What countries and cultures do you find most inspirational when it comes to beauty?
It’s definitely my own! I love how French women do their own thing when it comes to beauty and makeup. They don’t really follow the big trends (like contouring, highlighting, strobing, etc.). They stick to what suits them and what works for them and just emphasize their most beautiful features. I admire them for that.
The most popular beauty trends in your country right now:
Red or raspberry lipsticks are definitely a thing in France, and I feel like it’s been like that for years now. Most of the girls I know don’t emphasize their eyes, but they do their lips a lot.
Where you buy beauty products:
I buy most of them at the pharmacy or in beauty stores such as “beauty monop” or Sephora. Nothing fancy.
What does “healthy living” mean to you?
It means making the right choice to feel comfortable in your own skin. Feeling good about yourself is really what matters the most. And I noticed over time that the better I treated my body (by eating right, sleeping more, drinking less alcohol, etc.), the better it treated me (my skin looks better, I feel lighter, my hair is shinier, etc.). And you know what they say: “A healthy mind in a healthy body.”
How do you define/practice “self-care”?
I’m simply more attentive to everything I do to my body on a daily basis. That includes food, sleep, and sports. And I also like to indulge with some “me” time sometimes. So I’ll take an hour to do a face and hair mask, go get a manicure—it’s not something I do super often, but sometimes I think it’s important to unwind.
What’s your favorite way to stay active and why?
I’m not a super-sporty girl. I have a personal trainer who I see once a week and we focus on what I’d like to improve in terms of strength, shape, etc. Once a week is enough for me to stay in shape. My work is making me pretty active every day with all the meetings, shootings, and running around. Also, I live on the fifth floor without an elevator.
What’s your favorite healthy meal?
Omelets! I have a passion for omelets.
What are the most popular wellness trends in your country right now?
I’d say that juicing has been trending for some time now. Not a trend for me, though! I’m not sure being “extreme” in any kind of way is healthy.
