Celebrity makeup launches are never without fanfare, but there's a special kind of hype surrounding Rihanna's upcoming Fenty Beauty line. After all, she has a truly iconic sense of style. From the Met Gala to red carpets (and even her off-duty street style), she always seems to stay one step ahead of our expectations. Because of this, we're desperately waiting to see the final products, packaging, and formulas behind the Fenty Beauty debut.
We have to wait a few more days for the official drop, which is September 8 (our calendars have been marked for months now). But thanks to HelloGiggles and Rihanna, respectively, we can at least satiate our anticipation with some new information and product teasers. From a golden pressed powder to a mystery product called Perfect and an ultra-shiny lip gloss, we’re waiting for the Fenty Beauty launch with bated breath. Keep reading to see everything we know!
This video was released last week on the brand's official Instagram (does Rihanna know how to build anticipation, or what?). We love the inclusiveness of different skin tones, body types, and styles. We also love the sneak peek of products. Apparently, we can look forward to a golden, shimmery pressed powder called Trophy Wife, which Rihanna appears to be wearing in the video. We can also expect a shimmery nude gloss called Gloss Bomb. On Sephora's Instagram, a close-up of a pink-champagne highlighter stick was posted, captioned "Yacht Life." Other products she's teased since then include something that looks like a bronzer-blush duo and foundation/concealer.
Speaking of the foundation, Rihanna recently revealed it when conversing with a fan on IG that it will come in a staggering 40 shades. The exchange was posted on an account called @rihannadailybeauty. Apparently, a fan direct-messaged Rihanna after hearing the rumor, to which Rihanna messaged back to confirm.
"Gotta represent for my girls and we come in all shades! Especially my brown sisters... been left out too many times in the makeup world," she replied. We love her focus on inclusiveness, as it's much too commonplace for brands to release more pale shades than deep shades. Even her first brand video proves her dedication to representation and diversity.
In other words, if you weren't aware before, now you are. Rihanna's got your back. If you want to see all of her products IRL, head into a Sephora store on September 8.
