Regardless of the season, weddings are magical. Between the beautiful attire, clinking of glasses, and sway-worthy soundtracks, there's something entirely beguiling about the event that has the habit of giving us goosebumps (in the best way possible). And come fall, the whimsy only seems to intensify.
We're there for the ceremony, yes, but we'd be remiss to ignore the keen anticipation we feel in the moments leading up to the bride's initial entrance: What will she be wearing? How will she style her hair? Where did she get her makeup inspiration? These are just a few of the many questions flying through our beauty-obsessed minds.
Unsurprisingly, the wedding looks we observe in the spring and summer are quite a bit different than the ones we see in the fall. And since we love an excuse to pick the minds of celebrity makeup artists, we thought we'd pose them a question: What is your favorite makeup look for fall weddings?

Chauntal Capri Lewis
Clients: Julianne Hough, Lea Michele, Ashley Benson, Hilary Duff
The Look: Though Chauntal Capri Lewis (a makeup artist at Nine Zero Salon) has a soft spot for a bold berry lip and classic winged liner for fall, she's especially partial to wedding looks that speaks to a softened glamour: "I stick to a gorgeous gold eye with soft peachy-nude lip to create a stunning look. This is just as glamorous and creates a more effortless feel to the overall look."
Products & Application: Lewis explains that there are so many shades to choose from when considering a bronze, gilded eye and a plush peach lip. The key? Considering your individual eye color and skin tone.
For a sparkling eye, she turns to Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Eyeshadow in Bette ($32) and Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow in Metallic Gilded Gold ($32) to top.
For a radiant complexion, sweep the Clé de Peau Beauté Luminizing Face Enhancer ($95) across temples and cheekbones.
Clients: Natalie Morales, Ashley Madekwe, Clémence Poésy, Pia Toscano
The Look: Makeup artist Brittany Spyksma (who works with Contour Fossa), tells us that she has more than one look she likes for fall weddings. "I love a pretty berry lip. It adds a touch of romance with soft, natural makeup. I also love a soft brown smoky eye paired with a lighter lip. It's a little more dramatic but still whimsical touch as opposed to a black smoky eye."
Products & Application: "For a soft brown smoky eye, I love cream shadows layered with powders. My all-time favorite long-wear creams are Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadows in Beige and Bad to the Bronze ($7 each). Also, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette ($42) has really beautiful shadows to create this look," says Spyksma.
"For the brown smoky eye, I would start with a matte cream shadow in a lighter shade all over the lid and then blend up into the crease. Then, take a warmer brown tone and lightly shade over the whole lid. I usually take a bit of the darker color and blend along the lower lash line as well. For a softer look, keep eyeliner to the top lid. If you want a little more drama, lightly line the lower lash- and waterline."
Clients: Olivia Culpo, Adele, Karolina Kurkova, Whitney Port
Products & Application: "For the skin, [any] of the foundations from Hourglass are a must-have. For highlighters, I like the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter ($41), the Laura Mercier Face Illuminator ($44), and the MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Double Gleam ($34)," says Gozlan.
For a flawlessly lined eye, Byrdie HQ loves the Clé de Peau Beauté Intensifying Liquid Liner ($55), and to keep the whole look in place, Gozlan tells us she relies on the Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix Setting Spray ($30). Another expert tip for brides: Prep the skin with Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads ($44) for a glowy complexion.

The Look: "I believe that wedding makeup should be classic rather than trendy," says makeup artist Monika Blunder.
"Your makeup should be similar to what you usually wear. If you're known for wearing a red lip and that's what you love, then rock the red lip on your wedding day! Usually, a warm brown smoky eye with softly flushed cheeks and muted rosy lips are perfect any time of the year. For fall weddings, you could perfect the skin a bit more and use a mattifying foundation to give a velvety finish to the complexion."
Products & Application: "Invest in some good brushes for a professional finish to your makeup," says Blunder. "Always blend your foundation down your neck to make sure your foundation is seamless. Apply your makeup to your level of comfort—if you're not comfortable doing a smoky eye, don't! You want to feel your best on your wedding. Well-blended eye shadow that enhances your eye color, groomed brows, and perfected skin really make a huge difference. If you can nail those three things, you're all set."
For a clear complexion and perfect-for-fall base, our editorial director, Faith Xue, recommends Clé de Peau Beauté The Foundation ($250) and Blunder loves Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation ($55), which she says gives skin a beautiful finish to the skin—not too dewy, not too matte.
Exalt and Inflame on the "Dior Eyeshadow Palette ($62) are gorgeous warm cocoa, amber, and cranberry shades," says Blunder, and for blush and lipstick, she likes Nars Blush in Deep Throat ($30) and Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Luminous-Matte Lipstick in Pillow Talk ($34), which, she says, looks "luscious on the lips."
Another option? For the perfect pink pout, Team Byrdie recommends the Clé de Peau Beauté Lipstick in Chinoiserie ($65).
Clients: Olivia Munn, Kate Bosworth, Amber Stevens West, Ashley Olsen
The Look: "Fall weddings are my favorite," says makeup artist Molly Greenwald. "It has truly the most beautiful color palette. Flushed, hydrated complexions; sheer, warm autumnal browns; and bordeaux stained lips are a classic and romantic trend-proof looks on fall brides. Bronzed berry cheek stains give an ethereal crisp-weather flush."
Products & Application: "Soft, sheer, and full of life is the goal, so I love applying my foundation, bronzer, blush, and highlight with a damp Beautyblender ($20), stippling sheer layers of coverage, color, and highlight. I love the lip to look bitten and stained, so start with a swipe of lip balm then lightly press the lip color in with your finger in layers, focusing in the center."
If you love Munn's (so buzzy) lip, try the Clé de Peau Beauté Enriched Lip Luminizer in Berry-Liscious ($35).
