Olympic runner Emma Coburn made it all the way to the racetrack on Monday, August 16, before she realized, "Oh, sh*it, I don't have a hair tie."
With long, waist-grazing blonde hair, Coburn was not prepared to compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, which requires competitors to clear hurdles and pockets of water, without one.
In a turn of events that's almost too good to be true, Coburn was saved by none other than Evan Jager, a fellow Olympic runner well known for his commitment to the man bun. (Feast your eyes here.)

According to a report from Mashable, Coburn went on to take bronze in the event, after which she returned the hair tie to Jager. Later, Jager wore the exact same hair tie to compete in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase. He won the silver.
It has not yet been confirmed what type of hair tie crossed the finish line with Coburn and Jager, but undoubtedly it was a lucky one.
