If you've ever felt personally victimized by Emily Ratajkowski's abs, just know that the model and actress will be the first to admit that she is genetically blessed with superior muscle tone. "I'm just not a crazy fitness person," she tells The New York Times. "I don't have a trainer, and I don't really go to the gym."
But even if that feels painfully unfair, keep in mind that the supermodel and actress relies instead on a healthy diet—and it's actually not over-the-top but surprisingly doable. So what exactly ends up on the self-ascribed carnivore's plate in a typical day? Keep reading to find out.
For starters, Ratajkowski tells Harper's Bazaar that her usual breakfast consists of a black coffee from Blacktop Coffee and a French pastry called kouign-amann. She'll follow that up with a salad or sandwich for lunch.
"If I'm on set, I'll have catering, but I'm well-behaved with that stuff," she says. "It's easy to go crazy—they know how to feed you."
But one thing for sure: She is definitely no vegetarian.
"I really like to eat meat," she tells Elle.com. "I crave iron so I am definitely not the kind of person who you will often find eating a plain salad. I like to keep it really balanced to give my body energy and also be healthy."
Ratajowski also hardly ever eats at home. "Dinner is my time to be social and catch up with people," she says. Above all else, Ratajkowski makes sure she isn't too hard on herself—a strategy we can certainly get behind. "I wouldn't say I am the type of girl who craves Doritos but I definitely love a good cupcake sometimes. You know what I mean? Or a croissant in the morning.
