It's no secret that Priyanka Chopra Jonas has flawless skin, but the question remains: How does she do it? In a 2018 video with Harper's Bazaar, Chopra shares a few of her tricks for maintaining clean, exfoliated, and hydrated skin with her very own personal beauty guru—her mom.

Chopra reveals that her mom has always been her best resource for gleaning beauty and skincare advice. "Since she was a little girl, she always took care of her skin and made me realize…the importance of it," Chopra says, in the interview with Harper's Bazaar. Much of her wisdom comes from generations of Indian women who discovered their own natural skincare tricks.
According to Chopra's mother, Madhu, cleaning your skin before going to bed is of the utmost importance because that's when the skin has time to breathe. Both Madhu and Priyanka swear by coconut oil for a natural clean. They advise working the oil into your skin for a few minutes at night before taking a warm, moist towel to your face and rubbing in the oil to deeply clean and hydrate the skin while the hand towel exfoliates.
Make Priyanka Chopra's Favorite Face Mask
When you have more time to spend on your skincare routine, the mother-daughter duo recommends making your own ubtan face mask. Ubtan is a traditional Indian and Pakistani skincare mixture made with turmeric and other natural ingredients you likely already have in the pantry. Here's how it's done.
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- Turmeric, a pinch
- Lime juice, a few drops
- Full-cream yogurt, just enough to create a paste
- Rosewater (optional)
Directions
Combine ingredients in a bowl to create a paste-like texture. If it feels too dry, add rose water until you achieve the perfect consistency. Apply to the skin and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Gently rub the dried mask off the skin to remove fine hairs and dry skin while you exfoliate.
If the face mask mixture feels too thick, add a bit of rose water to loosen up the paste.
Priyanka Chopra Partners with Obagi
In 2019, Chopra's passion for effective skincare continued as she took on a first-ever global spokesperson role with skincare brand Obagi. And since her face is inextricably linked to her career, she acknowledged in an interview with Elle, she spent time testing the products herself and is proud to speak to the line's results. "Only when I could say 'This really made my skin great,' is when we came to an agreement of me becoming their ambassador," Chopra said.
However, the brand is no stranger to celebrity fandom. According to Elle, Alicia Keys, Drew Barrymore, Ayesha Curry, and Sofia Carson use Obagi as well. Chopra tells Elle that some of her favorite products from the Obagi line include, "The Professional-C Serum 10%, Professional-C Suncare, and the Hydrate Facial Moisturizer."
According to Chopra, her partnership with Obagi means more than being a well-recognized face for the brand. It's about inclusivity. Besides, skincare is a deeply personal ritual. "It’s easy to remember a time where people couldn't find a compact, powder, or a foundation to match their skin tone."
Priyanka Chopra tells Elle "When thinking about how far we've come now, we've gone further, but there are so many parts of the world where you still don't have products, especially skincare, that are made to suit our particular individualities."
