About The Brand: Known as one of the most reputable fashion houses in the world since 1947, Christian Dior has made quite a name for himself with some of the dreamiest couture designs known to many. Fast forward a few decades and the brand continues to thrive in fashion, along with being a notable fixture and cult favorite in fragrances and cosmetics.
About My Skin: I like it to look natural
I have combo skin that is sometimes sensitive, and I do like to wear makeup daily. I tend to go for natural makeup looks and always like my skin to feel light and have a glow to it. I don’t prefer full-coverage makeup as it can feel heavy on my skin. Common products I reach for daily are a foundation, concealer, brow gel, blush, bronzer, mascara, and lip tint. Brands I tend to wear are Giorgio Armani Beauty, NARS, Victoria Beckham Beauty, Westman Atelier, and others.
How To Apply: Fingers or foundation brush
The first thing to note about this foundation is you will need to shake it pretty well before applying. Since the formula is composed of talc-free oils that evaporate right away, they can tend to separate in the bottle.
You can actually utilize this foundation in a few different ways: One, apply it as a primer if you need to really even out your skin tone before a fuller coverage foundation. Two, wear as a light foundation to even out skin and just give a touch of coverage. Three, buff it on top of your regular foundation to add a silky, dewy skin finish.
While it’s best practice to not touch the dropper to your skin (to keep your makeup sanitary), you can apply a few drops to your fingers or the back of your hand before applying. If you’re blending the makeup with your fingers be sure that they are clean, if you apply the formula to the back of your hand you can use a foundation brush to apply and blend the product. The formula dries quickly so be sure to blend consistently, adding more product where you need it for an even finish.
The Results: My skin felt incredible
The formula of this foundation is truly beautiful, and my skin looked like I just applied a soft-focus filter to it, helping texture and tone to look even but not heavy at all. With other tinted makeup formulas, you find they absorb or are gone by the end of the day.
This foundation held up for hours and my skin looked consistently radiant and felt great the entire time I was wearing it.
The formula wears well throughout the day for as light as is it, which is a huge bonus, as some might not expect this outcome with such a light formula.
The Value: Worth every penny
While $53 is a higher price point for most when it comes to foundation, the great thing about this foundation that also makes it a value is that you only need a few drops to get the coverage you need. The formula will last you quite some time if you use it correctly, making it a worthy investment for a light foundation that actually delivers longevity with beautiful texture.
