Del Sandeen started styling hair at the age of 12, and has worn several different colors and dozens of hairstyles since. From a young age, she was reading countless books about the topic, including both style guides and histories. She has worn relaxed hair, braid extensions, natural hair, various colors, and has even created her own natural hair recipes. Her writing—which was some of the only mainstream online writing about black hair for several years—has helped numerous women get the hair they want.
