I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wear jeans every day—so much so, I like to think I’ve mastered the art of finding the perfect top or dress to go with any pair of jeans. I’ve scoured Etsy, eBay, and the streets of NYC, looking for jeans to match my mood, closet, and so much more. What started as an idea turned into outfits upon outfits that changed the way I felt about myself when I left the house. One could say I am a little denim obsessed. And with that, obsessed with outfit pairings with said jeans.
Another thing about me: I always run cold. So, I've had to figure out some easy, warm closet staples I can always throw on when the breeze hits. Ahead, find your new favorite layers to pair with denim.
Tunics
The tunic is the fashion equivalent of saying, "I couldn’t decide if I wanted to wear a dress or pants today." It's also the perfect layering piece to keep you warm. That said, you can pair it with bike shorts, a skirt, or wear it as a mini dress when it's warm out as well.
Crop Tops
My mother always says, "It’s better to dress warm than dress cute." She's right, but I can’t help but fall in love with a crop top every time I see one. So, the best of both worlds is to use your crop top as another layering piece (or alone once it's warm enough).
Sweaters
Ah, the savior to every wardrobe: the sweater. Dress it up, down, layer it, wear it solo—the possibilities are endless. Because sweaters come in so many varieties, it's fun and easy to switch it up with different, fun styles and textures.

Long Sleeves
Every fall, we can’t wait to bring out our long sleeves. When you don’t feel like going for a sweater, the long sleeve shirt is the perfect antidote (as well as an effective cold-weather layering piece).
T-Shirts
T-shirts are the long-sleeve shirt's sexy cousin. Whether it’s graphic or your favorite plain white tee, this piece is a staple for any the wardrobe of any season. (I'm wearing one right now.)
