Rarely, if ever, does a movie premiere generate enough head-turning red carpet beauty looks to warrant a dedicated roundup. (We typically save them solely for the big award shows.) Alas, here we are amid 13—dare we say it—of the best beauty looks we've gazed at all year long courtesy of the Crazy Rich Asians cast. No seriously, as we scrolled through our Instagram feeds and picked through our morning press releases, we initially thought we somehow missed a major red carpet. So after countless stunning looks, we're left with no other option than to create a dedicated red carpet ode to the movie's impeccably gorgeous cast. Ahead, 13 jaw-dropping beauty moments from last night's Los Angeles premiere of Crazy Rich Asians. Trust us, you're in for a treat.
To complement her gorgeous strands, Yara Shahidi went with a barely there makeup aesthetic courtesy of few clutch Bobbi Brown products. For a flawless canvas, makeup artist Emily Cheng mixed the brand's Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF in Golden Honey and Warm Almond ($47 each) before applying it to the actress's face. And for that pristine cat eye? She swiped the brand's Long-Wear Liquid Line in Violet Sparkle ($37).
For actress Michelle Yeoh, it was all about that amazing pompadour hairstyle, so her Dior makeup was kept subtler. Using the Diorshow Brow Styler Ultra-Fine Precision Brow Pencil in Universal Dark Brown ($29), makeup artist Sabrina Bedrani first filled in her brows to create some frame. Then she went in with the brand's Backstage Palette in Cool ($49) to coat her lids with pink and purple dimension.
In addition to those Old Hollywood Lana Turner–esque waves, we're loving Awkwafina's just-bitten lip look. "I prepped the lips with Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver in Raspberry ($34)," says makeup artist Kirin Bhatty. "Then I used the Contour Lipliner Pencil in Rouge Dior ($31). I took a little bit of Dior Addict Lip Tattoo in Natural Cherry and Natural Berry ($30 each) and mixed them together, pressing into her lip with my finger to create the perfect balanced red with a lot of dimension."
"To get the natural but luxe look, I used Lashify C14 lashes in the center of the eye, tapering down on either side with Lashify C12-sized lashes. I affixed the lashes with a black glue, a trick that creates more depth toward the root of the lashes."
Actress Janice Koh's chic blunt fringe is the ultimate accent for her clean, epically glowy makeup aesthetic. For some pop, she went with an orangey-red lip.
Smoked-out eyes, a glossy nude lip, and dewy radiance naturally enhanced Fiona Xie's edgy gown and dripping-with-diamonds jewelry.
Have you ever seen a more gorgeous lob than the look Carmen Soo served up on the red carpet? Lustrous and voluminous, it has us wanting to chop our hair—like, today.
Actress Tan Kheng Hua demonstrates how to nail a sometimes tricky-to-execute eye shadow look: blue and slate gray metallic. Plus, an edgily touseled mane.
The breeziness of Jing Lusi's playfully textured lob artfully emphasizes her natural makeup look, which still feels glowy and glamorous thanks to peachy lips and ultra-long lashes.
"To create a lit-from-within-glow for the red carpet, I first prepped Jing’s skin using the Dermaflash 2.0 Luxe Facial Exfoliation and Peach Fuzz Removal ($199), which gently exfoliates the skin and reveals natural radiance," explains celebrity makeup artist Michael Ashton. "Then, I massaged a combination of Sisley Paris Black Rose Precious Face Oil ($240) followed by Embryolisse Lait‑Crème Concentré ($28) to hydrate and plump the skin."
Porcelain skin, bold brows, flowing strands, and that glossy, muted red lip? Our mouths are agape. Victoria Loke is officially our newest beauty muse.
Celebrity makeup artist Monika Blunder worked with Gemma Chan to create her ethereally dewy makeup look. For her gorgeous eyes, Blunder used Clé de Peau Beauté Radiant Corrector for Eyes in Ocher ($65) "to really make her eyes pop." Then, she applied a light wash of pink and brown shadow in addition to a few lashes.
To offset her pearlescent, virtually translucent skin, actress Constance Lau opted for a luminous true blue-red lip to provide ultimate contrast.
As if her shining, expertly coiffed pixie wasn't enough, Sonoya Mizuno stunned the red carpet with her earthy-shadowed eyes and bold red lip—the definitive trend of the night.
