Couture Fashion Week is no stranger to whimsy, and this year, designers certainly didn’t disappoint. Some looks were ethereal and muted, as with models from Ralph & Russo adorned in petal pink ribbons and pastel lip stains. Others felt more badass: Besties Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner swayed down the Chanel runway with graphic eyes, and Versace painted smoky, metallic shadow on each girl’s lids. No matter the vibe, every look was more jaw-dropping than the last.

Armani left the models' faces quite bare, save for a pink blush that gave a dreamy flush of color. The hair was Greta Garbo–inspired S-waves, and the eyes were simple yet graphic: just one black line in the crease, one along the lashes, and several coats of mascara for the dreamiest doe-eyed look we’ve seen all week.
Inspired by a 1932 Picasso sculpture (or Princess Leia, if you’re into science fiction), Chanel’s croissant-shaped twist with a sleek middle part was the perfect compliment to the floating cat eye.

Apparently layering lipstick is the new black.
Leave it to Gaultier to show an '80s club-kid dream world inspired by Parisian nightclub Le Palace. The lipsticks were glossy, the hair was big, and it was all delightfully punk rock.
Think windblown ballerina with a proclivity for pink.
With what looks like lip balm and a strong brow, the minimalist makeup at Valentino proved perfect with paired with snake-shaped gold headpieces.
Beloved makeup artist Pat McGrath smudged her wildly popular Phantom Eye Gloss to create a sexy yet simple smoky eye that glistens.
