When it comes to a fall color palette, we generally envision jewel tones, deep hues, and rich colors—a complete “warm” welcome, if you will, after a summer of bright and bold shades. This season, to get us even more in the mood for a new beauty color palette, Pantone fulfilled our wildest autumnal dreams with its fall color forecast. The authority on color reveals on its site that this year’s color roundup is “a range of bold color statements and patterns to reflect a landscape of hope, fun, fantasy and all things natural.” Sounds like just about everything we could possibly hope for the fall season, and more. Especially when it comes to beauty, “fun,” “natural,” and “fantasy” sound completely alluring, which is why we’ve rounded up some gorgeous products that coincide with each Pantone pick. Scroll through to see for yourself!
Said to be a movement away from the “military” vibe olive green often gives off, this shade is meant to be a more femme, earthly take on the hue. To try this look at home, we recommend Urban Decay Eyeshadow ($20) in Mildew. For your digits, try dressing them up with OPI Nail Lacquer ($6) in Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window for a pretty, mossy green shade.
Pantone describes this shade as “sensual,” and truth be told, we’d have to agree. Purple is a stunning color on virtually every skin tone and can be worn in a variety of ways. For starters, we like Maybelline Eye Studio Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow ($10) in Purple Icon and China Glaze Polish ($8) in Tart-y for the Party.
Despite its beachy implication, this hue is still appropriate for fall. Try placing Nyx Cosmetics Retractable Eyeliner ($5) in Gypsy Blue on your waterline, and give your nails a real treat with Essie Polish ($9) in Go Overboard.
Orange is an obvious color choice for fall, but it may not be an obvious choice for your beauty bag. Spice up your complexion with Nyx Powder Blush ($5) in Cinnamon and your nails with Essie Nail Polish ($9) in Geranium.
Rose is a lovely color and a classic beauty staple, but Pantone’s pick is more of a dusty shade with a vintage vibe. For your pout, swipe on some Laura Gellar Iconic Baked Sculpting Lipstick ($21) in East Side Rouge. For your nails, we like OPI Soft Shades Nail Lacquer Collection ($10) in Hawaiian Orchid.
You’ve known Marsala as the It color of the year, but it’s never too late to share some more drop-dread-gorgeous products with you, especially since the color is still having a big moment this season. Try L'Oréal Colour Riche Lipcolour ($8) in Cinnamon Toast for lips and Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss ($4) in Wine to Five for nails.
A cozy camel hue, Oak Buff is the feel-good beauty color of the season. Wear it on your lips, nails, cheeks (as a bronzer/highlighter), and eyes for a nude glow that’s sure to warm up your complexion. For eyes, Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner ($22) in Gilded is sure to brighten up your lids. To dress up your nails, we like China Glaze Nail Polish ($5) in Classic Camel.
This deep, dreamy teal blue screams fall, and we can’t wait to fill our makeup bags with the sultry shade. Try lining eyes with MAC Eye Shadow ($19) in Deep Truth. For nails, we like OPI Nail Lacquer ($2) in Ski Teal We Drop.
There’s something romantic about a rainstorm, which leads us to believe that this color pick by Pantone is much less drab than gray usually conveys and more of a fierce slate hue. For the eyes, brush on a few swipes of Urban Decay Eyeshadow ($19) in S&M. For nails, a few coats of China Glaze Nail Polish (6) in Concrete Catwalk will do the trick.
