When it comes to our skin, we all go through times in our lives when our complexions can go a little off-kilter. It's at moments like these that we need to remind ourselves of the basic rules of skincare so we can swiftly get our skin back to its clear and glowing best. As a beauty editor, I get asked a lot of questions, but there are a few skincare questions I'm asked time and again, which is why we've collaborated with Kiehl's and online retailer Feelunique. Kiehl's let me put the most common skincare concerns to its UK consulting dermatologist, Alexis Granite.

What's cheering to hear is that most skin issues can be solved with some simple over-the-counter skincare tweaks and, luckily all the products are available online below at the click of a button. So when it comes to the skincare concerns that come up time and again, one of the most common is "How can I tell what my skin type is?" Granite has a genius trick you can use to find out. Blackheads are a frequently asked-about issue, as is adult acne and pigmentation, and we tackle them all in the video below (don't worry—it's only five minutes long—we're efficient!).

Being the editor of an online beauty publication, I often get asked "How can I shop for skincare online?" It's a challenge when you can't touch or smell a product, but it's definitely not impossible—in fact, follow our guidelines in the video below and we bet you'll be shopping for your skincare online from now on. Any excuse, right?

Identified your skin type or want to tackle a specific skin problem with one of the products Granite recommended in the video? Shop them below.
