As someone who very recently threw out her scale with unadulterated glee, I can't exactly picture myself posting my "number" for the world to see—particularly if I had millions of followers among my ranks. But I have to applaud Ciara for doing exactly that: Last week, the singer took to Instagram to share the progress of her post-baby weight loss in a very relatable move fellow new moms could surely appreciate. (Ciara gave birth to her daughter with husband Russell Wilson in late April.)
"I said I wasn't going to gain 60lbs Carrying Sienna, and… I did exactly that," she wrote with a smiley face, adding that she's working hard at getting in shape. And since the pressure for women to "bounce back" after having a baby is worthy of more than an eye roll, we have to appreciate the fact that Ciara is unapologetic for her weight gain—and approaching her fitness regimen on her own terms.
