It's almost like magic: Celebrities have babies and then before you know it, they're back on the red carpet looking just as they did (if not better) than before they were pregnant, and you wonder how it's physically possible to get back into shape so quickly. It sets high standards for non-celebs and is actually a bit daunting imagining keeping up with the Jones's and fitting into your skinny jeans weeks after bringing a human into the world.
Chrissy Teigen, one who doesn't shy from telling it like it is, wants you to know that these standards are unrealistic. And while the model may have hit the town looking slender and fit just weeks after giving birth to daughter Luna, she openly admits that her celebrity status is the reason she was able to lose the weight so quickly.
“Anyone in the public eye, we have all the help we could ever need to be able to shed everything,” she tells Today. “So I think people get this jaded sensation that everybody's losing it so quickly, but we just happen to be the ones who are out there. We have nutritionists, we have dietitians, we have trainers, we have our own schedules, we have nannies. We have people who make it possible for us to get back into shape. But nobody should feel like that's normal, or like that's realistic."
Teigen's openly shared her stretch marks on social media in the past as well, proving that she's not here to perpetuate the idea that model bodies are perfect. In fact, she spends 15 to 20 minutes a day rubbing La Mer The Concentrate ($360) onto her "stretchies," which, of course, is another costly treatment celebrities and the upper class can afford.
