Cherisse earned a Fulbright Scholarship during her sophomore year of college, which allowed her to travel to the Netherlands, Paris, and Spain to further develop her writing skills. She has fact-checked multiple publications, including Refinery29, In Style, and the New York Times. When she's not writing, she is an elementary education teacher and an online English language teacher for Chinese students.
Cherisse received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Western Connecticut State University and two master's degrees: one in English Writing and one in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport.
