Sometimes a new product is so genuinely outstanding that there’s nothing to do except gush. So this is me gushing. Charlotte Tilbury’s Instant Look in a Palette ($75) is an all-in-one magical makeup palette that allows for a five-minute face on the go. But that’s not all… It includes shades from three of the brand’s cult favorites—Filmstar Bronze & Glow ($68), Luxury Palette ($52), and Cheek to Chic ($40)—because obviously Tilbury knows how to make us giddy with joy.
Tilbury explains the magic herself: “You don’t need to give me an hour to feel the full force of my makeup magic. Just give me five minutes in the mirror of your car and I can show you an instant, naturally gorgeous look. My formulas are so easy to blend, the palette colors are so harmonious, and the format is so easy to use. I have been working on the new natural glowing look for years, and I use it on clients for anything from runway to the big day: It was my go-to blushing-bride look for Kate Moss’s wedding day. It is the perfect chic, effortless look. It’s a you-but-better instant makeup pick-me-up.”
Let me break it down for you:
This pale rose matte hue color-corrects as it brightens. It primes, it smooths, and it makes you look like you got a full night’s sleep last night. (We know you didn’t.) Apply it first all over your lids using a blender brush.
The eye enhancer is made up of a satiny formula in a glowy champagne shade. This little square of heaven illuminates the eyelid to give your eyes dimension and that pretty candlelit look you’re always after. Brush it on your outer socket and run it underneath your eye with a smudger brush.
Now, this palette also brings the sexy. The eye smoke defines your eyes with a highly pigmented, universally flattering taupe shade that isn’t as harsh as black but is just as sultry. It looks natural but a bit more turned up. Using a smudger brush and apply it along your upper lash line and underneath your eye.
You can use the bronzing powder to define your cheekbones or give off an all-over healthy, sun-kissed radiance. It’s really nice, totally matte (sparkles can be annoying), and not at all fake looking. Blend it all over your face where the sun would naturally hit.
Pretty and tea-rose colored, this blush is perfect to blend along your cheekbones for that coveted just-went-for-a-run healthy flush.
This pink shade will put a smile on your face (really though, smile as you apply it to get a natural application along the apples of your cheeks) and a lit-from-within glow.
Glide the highlighter along the outer C-section of your cheekbones, down your nose, along your cupid’s bow, and on the inner corners of your eyes with this barely-there shimmer.
Convinced yet? If not, think of it this way: This palette is tagged at $75—yes, it’s pricey. But if you were to accumulate all the other palettes that house these in-cred-ible shades, your purchase would be tagged at a cool $160. Promise, it’ll be the most worthwhile $75 you’ve ever spent.
