Planning a wedding is stressful. There's the venue, the caterer, the music—basically a ton of factors that will go into one expensive party that lasts a total of one day. (I know—the memories supposedly last a lifetime, but still.) Another factor that gets expensive fast? Makeup. The average cost for wedding makeup in New York City is $350, and that's not including the trial session or tip. Compared to the overall cost of the wedding, this is marginal, but it's still a large chunk. We get it, though—the way you look on your wedding day means everything.
The better you look, the more confident you feel.
If anyone were to understand that last notion, it's celebrities. They constantly pay top dollar to look like a million bucks for events, so of course their wedding days are no exception. But, surprisingly, in our search for the products celebs swore by for their bridal glow, we were intrigued to find a lot of drugstore products in the mix (music to the ears of brides on a budget). Below, take a look at the products celebrities entrusted to get the job done on their special day.
"I have never felt prettier than on my wedding day," Port gushes on her website. Her makeup artist, Phoebe Organ created what Port calls a "soft wash" of peach, pink, and shimmery tones. Her foundation was kept light with Lâncome Miracle Cushion followed by spot treatment with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and Tarte Cheek Stain in Glisten. For the reception, she brightened up her face with a pop of Stila Metals Shadow in [Metallic] Dusty Rose on her lids. For the full breakdown, visit her site!
Kim Kardashian West
Longtime makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic always kills the makeup game, so we expected him to bring out the big guns for Kim's wedding (and that he did). For her complexion, he used Urban Decay Naked Skin Liquid Foundation and Naked Flushed Highlighter, Bronzer & Blush. Of course, KKW's wedding makeup wouldn't be complete without a namesake product, so Dedivanovic applied Kardashian Beauty Honey Stick Lipgloss in Natural Honey on top of (drugstore!) L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lipstick in Extraordinaire.
We wouldn't expect Sofíia Vergara to be buttoned-up on her wedding day, so her custom fiery-red lip shade from CoverGirl (of which she's a brand ambassador for) was most fitting. The actress also wore CoverGirl foundation. As for the rest of the look? Says makeup artist Kayleen McAdams, "A bride can never go wrong with lots of lashes and a glowing cream blush."
Believe it or not, Miranda Kerr did her own makeup for her wedding. She prepped her skin with—what else—Kora Organics products and then used Suqqu Lightweight Foundation (a Japanese brand that fellow Aussie Margot Robbie also loves) and La Prairie Cellular Radiance Cream Blush in Rose Glow.
