Lupita Nyong’o proves that blue eyeshadow isn’t just a ‘90s trend. Makeup artist Nick Barose used Lancôme’s Color Design 5 Pan Eyeshadow ($50) palette in Midnight Rush to create a dreamy wash of color on her lids. For her lips, he used Armani’s Lip Maestro ($33) in 201 for a hint of color, then added Lancôme’s Baume in Love Sheer ($26) in Very Cherry on top. “[It adds] perfect, sheer color and shine that’s not too ‘lipstick-y’ for summer!” he says.
Moving your bun from the top of your head to the side is the quickest (and easiest) way to update your go-to lazy day ‘do. Munn’s braided version is fresh and perfect for summer!
There’s no better lipstick shade for summer than orange—and Lucy Hale’s tangerine pout is proof. To find the most flattering orange for your skintone, check out our ultimate guide.
Hale’s Pretty Little Liars co-star, Shay Mitchell, is the definition of bronze beauty at the show’s 100th episode premiere party. Her shimmery shadow, perfectly-placed bronzer, and sheer, nude lipstick would be just as appropriate for a beach vacation as the red carpet.
Your go-to ballerina bun could use an update—why not French braid a small section at your crown to add some attitude, like the ultimate purveyor of cool, Cara Delevingne?
Try parting your hair in a different to update your look, instantly. Hairstylist Christian Wood gave America Ferrera deep side part, then added Bumble & Bumble’s Surf Spray ($15) to her dry strands to add texture and volume. Then, he smoothed her hair back using Fekkai’s Sheer Hold Hairspray ($20), and pinned it into place. For her waves, he gently curled her hair away from her face, and sprayed Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray ($21) throughout. “This breaks up the waves and adds volume,” he says. Finally, he finished by brushing her hair with Mason Pearson’s Brush ($105) and shook the waves out with his fingers.
Take a cue from Adriana Lima and give dewy skin a chance. To keep your skin looking glowy—but not oily—apply a light-reflecting moisturizer, like Jouer’s Luminizing Moisture Tint ($38), over your entire complexion with your fingers, then spritz with a hydrating face mist, like glō Minerals’ Moist Hydration Mist ($19), for extra glowiness.
We’re all about a bold brow—but why not let your eyes do the talking for once? We love Lara Stone’s sultry smoky eye and barely-there brow at amFAR’s 21st Cinema Against AIDS Gala. Makeup artist Karim Rahman used L’Oréal Paris’ Infallible Eye Shadow ($8) in Smoldering Plum on her lid for a smoky effect, and finished with the brand’s Voluminous Butterfly Mascara ($9) for extra drama.
