Reviewed: This Care Skincare Water Cream Is My Dewy-Skin Secret

Skincare is practically my religion at this point. I have a meticulous routine and I'm constantly trying to find the next gem to add into my rotation. I like all things hydrated, glowy, and supple. So, you can imagine I'm a harsh critic when it comes to experimenting with moisturizer. My go-to, Dr. Barbara Sturm's Face Cream Rich ($230) is an example of, in my opinion, a five-star product. That said, I like to switch it up a bit as seasons come and go and rotate-in products with different viscosities. I've recently discovered a less expensive face cream that works wonders. Enter: Care Skincare's Deep Moisture Fix Hydrating Water Cream.

Bottom Line

Care Skincare's Deep Moisture Fix Hydrating Water Cream is an affordable hydrating cream that I can't recommend enough.

The Feel: Lightweight

The brand was launched by a former Estée Lauder exec and offers just a few really great staple products. This one is particularly addicting. It feels like a mix between jelly and a fluffy cloud—if you can imagine—light, airy, but still deeply hydrating and cushiony on my skin. Then there's the dreamy texture—a light pink gel-cream hybrid that feels like a burst of cooling hydration upon application.

The Ingredients: Packs a punch

It's brimming with hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, vitamins C and E, as well as caffeine to deeply hydrate, brighten, protect, nourish, and firm your skin. That's a pretty potent cocktail of goodness, you know?

  • Hyaluronic acid: It has this magical ability to retain moisture. In fact, according to one study, one gram of hyaluronic acid can hold up to six liters of water.
  • Vitamin C: A rockstar ingredient we all know and love for its antioxidant protection and brightening benefits.
  • Aloe vera: This ingredient soothes dry skin while protecting against trans-epidermal water loss.
  • Glycerin: Glycerin moisturizes and attracts moisture to the skin. It helps lock it in for skin to retain.

The Results: Visible and refreshing

I started using it at my desk, and then promptly took it home to use on the daily. I use it every morning (and whenever I feel like my skin needs a pick-me-up throughout the day). It's so refreshing. I like to cleanse with a balm, apply a cocktail of serums (usually vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, among others), and then give myself a nice facial massage using this product. As you rub it in, you can visibly see your skin suck in the moisture and plump up, instantly reviving thirsty skin.

The Value: Worth the price

Not only is this product a portion of the price of Dr. Barbara Sturm's Face Cream Rich (Dr. Barbara Sturm's products are worth the splurge but, still, it's a splurge), but Care Skincare's Deep Moisture Fix Hydrating Water Cream genuinely checks every box. It's multi-faceted as it can be used for a daily morning moisturizer, mid-day refresher, and also a hydrating mask. And for $35, it'll be your new go-to facial cream. Plus, a little goes a long way!

Similar Products: You have options

Dr. Barbara Sturm's Face Cream Rich: This is my usual—much more expensive at $215 or more—face cream that provides visible results. It's rich without being greasy, absorbs easily, and keeps my skin dewy all day. Plus, the formula incorporates purslane (a succulent herb packed with omega-3 fatty acids) to reduce redness and skullcap extract to stimulate natural collagen production.

Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum: Made with pineapple ceramide and pro-vitamin B5, this Drunk Elephant serum ($48) hydrates and illuminates all skin types.

Tula Skincare Hydrating Day & Night Cream: At $52, this is another cream that hydrates skin, but it also includes probiotics to help with any skin irritation.

Our Verdict: Worth it

It's amazing. I can't stop raving. That is all. Apply before or after applying makeup, use throughout the day, pack it in your purse, leave it on your desk, keep it in your makeup bag, the opportunities are endless with this facial cream. You won't regret purchasing it!
