Skincare is practically my religion at this point. I have a meticulous routine and I'm constantly trying to find the next gem to add into my rotation. I like all things hydrated, glowy, and supple. So, you can imagine I'm a harsh critic when it comes to experimenting with moisturizer. My go-to, Dr. Barbara Sturm's Facial Cream Rich ($150) is an example of, in my opinion, a five-star product. It's rich without being greasy, absorbs easily, and keeps my skin dewy all day. Plus, the formula incorporates purslane (a succulent herb packed with omega-3 fatty acids) to reduce redness and skullcap extract to stimulate natural collagen production.
That said, I like to switch it up a bit for summer and rotate in a product that's lighter on the skin. Enter: Care Skincare's Deep Moisture Fix Hydrating Water Cream ($35).
Not only is a portion of the price (Dr. Barbara Sturm's products are worth the splurge but, still, it's a splurge), but it genuinely checks every box. The brand was launched by a former Estée Lauder exec and offers just a few really great staple products. This one is particularly addicting. It feels like a mix between jelly and a fluffy cloud—if you can imagine—light, airy, but still deeply hydrating and cushiony on my skin. It's brimming with hyaluronic acid, aloe, vitamins C and E, as well as caffeine to deeply hydrate, brighten, protect, nourish, and firm your skin.
That's a pretty potent cocktail of goodness, you know? The hyaluronic acid has this magical ability to retain moisture. In fact, according to one study, one gram of hyaluronic acid can hold up to six liters of water. Then vitamin C, a rockstar ingredient we all know and love for its antioxidant protection and brightening benefits, as well as aloe to soothe, and caffeine to firm.
Then there's the dreamy texture—a gel-cream hybrid that feels like a burst of cooling hydration upon application. I started using it at my desk, and then promptly took it home to use on the daily. I use it every morning (and whenever I feel like my skin needs a pick-me-up throughout the day). It's so refreshing. I like to cleanse with a balm, apply a cocktail of serums (usually vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, among others), and then give myself a nice facial massage using this product. As you do rub it in, you can visibly see your skin suck in the moisture and plump up.
It's amazing. I can't stop raving. That is all.
