Dior's annual Guggenheim International Gala Pre-Party always marks the start of the holiday season in New York. The night at the museum is a fête that draws the city's most fashionable set: celebrities, models, and more, all decked in their festive best. We got an inside look at model Camille Rowe's getting-ready process through the lens of her makeup artist, Matin, who created a gilded look we'll definitely be filing away as makeup inspiration for our next holiday party. Keep scrolling to see the process from start to finish, with commentary from Matin!
"Camille is wearing a silk tie-dye look with a thick, gorgeous belt. We were trying to play up her makeup since the rest of her look was pretty minimalist. She asked to do something she hasn't done before, so we opted for a nude look with just a bit of sparkle on the eyes."
"For her foundation, I used Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation ($40) in #2N, followed by Diorskin Forever Undercover Concealer ($34) in #020 Light Beige. I used a translucent powder to set the foundation on her T-zone and to take away excess shine."
"I love the look of Dior 5 Couleurs ($62) in Feel. I created definition around her eyes without any harshness or the look of a made-up eye. The shadow is applied like a halo around the eyes with color fading from dark to light from the lash line to the crease and brows.
"I defined her brows with small strokes of Diorshow Brow Styler ($29) in Universal Brown."
"I topped it off with a little bit of bronze glitter on her eyelids. I used Diorshow Pump 'N' Volume ($30) in Black Pump on her lashes."
"I love her with nude lips. I decided to forego lip liner and patted Rouge Dior Ultra Rouge ($37) in Ultra Tender with my fingers on her lips for a barely there wisp of color."
And that's it! For such a stunning look, it's amazing how simple it is to recreate it. We're definitely wearing this makeup to our next holiday party—and we might even steal Camille's pajama-esque silk outfit, too.
