Burt's Bees has been a drugstore staple for decades. Seriously, its Rosewater Toner ($12) has earned a permanent spot on our bathroom vanities, just like the Beeswax Lip Balm ($4) will live, perpetually, in our makeup bags. There's just something that's indispensable about budget-friendly and all-natural products.
We'll never leave Burt's Bees classic products behind, but it looks like we might just be welcoming a few more to the ranks. That's right, Burt's Bees just launched a brand-new, full range makeup line—we're talking eye shadow palettes, blush, eyeliner mascara, even foundation. Everything is all-natural (of course) and has been developed with the help of expert celebrity makeup artists.
According to Refinery29, these products are game-changers for the brand. Celebrity makeup artist Toby Fleischman helped to develop the new product line. One of her favorites, she told Refinery29, is the high-coverge foundation that retail for only $17 a bottle. "First and foremost, this foundation is so unique," she says. "There just isn't anything like it on the mass market level at such an affordable price. It lives in that luminous sweet spot: not too matte, but not too dewy, either."
If you're not into liquid foundation, don't fret; they've also released a Mattifying Powder Foundation ($17). "It's light enough that it can be applied with a fluffy brush as a setting powder to lock in your makeup and take away shine—without adding a lot of added pigment to the skin," Fleischman says. "But if you want more coverage, or just prefer a powder foundation, you can use the sponge to blend it beautifully into the skin."
We love (nay, need) a good foundation, but we have to move on to the brand's new blush formulas. The blush comes in three different shades: rose, peach, and bronze. Each one looks finely milled and vibrant, which is kind of the goal of a powder blush, no?
Keeping with the charming honeycomb theme, Burt's Bees also released eye shadow trio palettes. There are four different palettes in total, ranging from shimmery pastels to deep taupe and purple shades. Whichever one you go with, know that they're each made with bamboo, honey, and vitamin E, so they will be as gentle and nourishing as they are aesthetically pleasing.
Other products to launch include Glossy Lipstick ($9), Nourishing Mascara ($13), Nourishing Eyeliner Pencil ($10), and an Eyebrow Pencil ($10). Although Burt's Bees has released lipstick before, this new formula is special. It's formulated with moringa oil, mimosa flower wax, and raspberry oil for an ultra-smooth and nourishing feel. The mascara is ophthalmologist-tested and non-irritating, while the two pencils are completely fade- and smudge-proof.
Clearly, each product is reasonably priced, meeting the drugstore threshold. You'll have to wait before you see them at Target or CVS, though, since Refinery29 reports that the official launch isn't happening until September. If you can't wait until then, see all of the products on the Burt's Bees website.
