When someone says Ariana Grande, you probably picture her signature snatched ponytail and her killer cat eye. The singer has been rocking that look since the beginning. We're all for coining beauty styles, and it's fair to say the 24-year-old owns that one. However, she switched things up in a major way with the debut of her July British Vogue cover. Are we seeing things, or is this really Grande with loose, blonde hair (that's down!) and no cat eye in sight? So gorgeous.
Appleton captioned his photo, "Simply stunning in so many ways." Agreed. Grande's fresh, glowy makeup, nude lipstick, and faux freckles are a beautiful departure from her go-to beauty look. We're all for no-makeup makeup, and sometimes less is more when it comes to beauty.
In her cover story, Grande talks openly about her experience with anxiety. "My anxiety has anxiety," she tells Vogue. "I've always had anxiety. I've never really spoken about it because I thought everyone had it, but when I got home from tour it was the most severe I think it's ever been." Her barely there beauty look leans more toward truth and vulnerability. If this is the beginning of Grande experimenting more with her natural beauty and letting it shine, she's got our collective support. If anything, Grande's cover is proof that there's so much freedom in your beauty choices and you have the power to reinvent yourself whenever you're ready. More of this in 2018 and beyond, please.
