La Mer has always held a kind of secret fascination for me. Not only has the brand created a cult cream loved by celebrities and beauty editors worldwide (Creme de la Mer, we're looking at you), but it has also been completely secretive about the love and labour of work that went into its products. That is until Estée Lauder helpfully unearthed its secrets. And I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this fascination of mine. Given that a tub of Crème de la Mer cream costs £220 (pricey, we know, but it's magic), we, like you, are desperate to learn more about the brand.
Which is why the news that it's hosting a pop-up in London is music to our ears.
From Wednesday, 18 April, until Saturday, 21 April, La Mer will be taking up residency in London's Soho district at 13 Soho Square so its customers can explore the real story behind the brand. But it doesn't stop there—you can get a La Mer mani (not to be missed) or experience one of its incredible 30-minute Miracle Broth Facials. Or why not kick back with friends, have a drink, discover which moisturiser works for your skin, and take home a sample? Basically, the La Mer world is opening its doors to you, and we strongly recommend you check it out.
All the details and timings can be found online, but before you book, why not check out Byrdie's favourite products below to get you in the mood?
There's no denying that price tag is high, but if there's one product we'd splash out on, it's Crème de la Mer. This nourishing moisturiser not only penetrates deep into the surface to replenish your skin's texture, it visibly smooths our fine lines, and the results are noticeable after one use—trust us.
Deputy editor Shannon Peter is hooked on the La Mer lip balm and uses it daily because of its sweet and minty taste.
As far as luxury foundations go, this one is one of our go-tos. Enriched with the label's coveted Miracle Broth, it leaves your skin feeling velvety and looking all kinds of dewy and plump. The dream.
So, will we see you at the pop-up?
