This last year, the media has been (and is still) abuzz with discussions about Korean beauty innovations. The cutting-edge products coming out of Korea have gotten a lot of love, but there hasn't been as much discussion about the packaging innovations—and sometimes, the packaging is what can turn a standard product into an extraordinary product.
Cosmax and Kolmar are a couple of the leading manufacturers in Korea that huge names like Amore Pacific, LG Household & Health Care, Estée Lauder, and L’Oréal use to help make some of their products. These two beauty manufacturers have some of the most renowned research and development capabilities when it comes to creating textures and formulations that wow us.
Today, though, I also want to take my hat off to the genius packaging companies like CTK Cosmetics, Yonwoo, Minjin, and Pum-Tech that sometimes fly under the radar—because without the incredible applicators and chic packaging, Korean beauty would be a little more drab and perhaps even a little less effective. The first International Cosmetics Packaging Seminar was held in Korea about a year ago, and apparently, a whopping 92% of Korean consumers responded to a survey stating that packaging critically affects purchasing behavior.
And the expectation is that packaging be both beautiful and delightful to use.
Ahead, you’ll find some of the coolest Korean beauty products on my radar that fit that bill. Keep scrolling to see them all!
