It was a red carpet-filled week, and if you thought your favorite celebs killed it at the Emmys, just wait until you see the stunning looks from Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards and beyond. Keep reading to see the best of the best in celebrity beauty!
Makeup Artist Beau Nelson wanted to keep Dobrev’s MTV Video Music Awards look fresh and sophisticated, so he chose Jouer’s Hydrating Lipstick ($22) in Ava to echo the color of her red dress. He kept the rest of the face neutral, with just some soft contouring and a bit of Nars’ The Multiple ($39) in South Beach for a bronze glow on Dobrev’s cheeks.
Chanel Iman’s VMA look was nothing short of smoldering. Makeup artist Collier Strong gave the model nude lips and a natural flush to complement her smudgy, black smoky eye.
Ashley Tisdale attended an event in Malibu this week, sporting a half-back ‘do—not unlike the one we created with her when the actress first cut her hair. You can’t go wrong with texture, volume, and a half-bun.
Never one to disappoint, J.Lo stepped onto the red carpet this week looking as glowing as ever. Makeup artist Mary Phillips gave Lopez shimmering eyes and a baby pink lip. Lopez’s nails were also a soft pinky-nude shade, thanks to a custom-blended polish created for her by celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik.
In Sydney, Australia, this week, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley showed off big, glossy curls at a launch party for ModelCo Skincare.
Joan Smalls showed up to the Emmy party scene looking gorgeous (no surprise). She wore neutral makeup and matte nude lips, but it was her thick, black cat-eye that totally made the look.
Taylor Schilling’s VMAs look was all about the eyes. Makeup artist Tina Turnbow for Clinique used Clinique’s Cream Shaper for Eyes ($17) in Deep Cobalt to define the upper and lower lash lines and waterline. Then, she used the dark blue shades from Clinique’s All About Shadow Quad ($28) in Galaxy to accentuate the outer crease of Schilling’s almond-shaped eyes.
