Last night at the Inherent Vice premiere, hairstylist Adir Abergel gave Reese Witherspoon some serious Brigitte Bardot vibes with a teased, bouncy pony (he used L’Oréal Paris’ Advanced Haristyle Boost It Volume Inject Mousse ($5) on her roots to create lots of volume). Meanwhile, makeup artist (and resident Byrdie makeup tutorial expert) Lauren Andersen created an expertly flicked cat-eye and finished off with a pretty pink lipstick that matched Witherspoon’s dress.
At the same premiere, makeup artist Mai Quynh said she was inspired by Jena Malone’s plunging top and gray skirt and wanted to give her “a modern-day Grace Kelly look.” She used Temptu’s Color True Lipstick in Rose Velveteen, a brand new, not-yet-released shade, to give her a Kelly-esque pout.
With flushed cheeks and rosy lips, courtesy of makeup artist Sarah Glick, Anna Kendrick totally gave off Snow White vibes at the premiere of Into the Woods. On the hair front, hairstylist Matthew Monzon said her hair needed to be “sleek, shiny, and simple” to complement her Narciso Rodriguez dress. (He used the GHD Gold Flat Iron ($225) to make her strands sleek.)
Makeup artist Jenn Streicher gave Emily Blunt a ruby ombré lip using Laura Mercier products at the same premiere.
Give bedhead a break and try super-sleek strands à la Rose Byrne at the Annie premiere in New York City. Hairstylist and John Frieda creative consultant Harry Josh misted the brand’s Frizz Ease 3-Day Straight ($3) from root to tip, then blew her hair dry using his line’s Pro Tools 2000 Hair Dryer ($300).
Hudson proves that a messy topknot can totally be chic and formal when paired with smoky eyes and a nude lip.
Leave it to Kim Kardashian to pull off a bronzy, just-got-back-from-the-beach look when everyone else is battling the freezing temps. We approve!
Bronzed lids, subtle contouring, and lush lashes—Olivia Palermo is the epitome of “party-ready” at the Valentino Sala Bianca 945 event.
What’s more festive than a hint of violet shadow and a little shimmer on the inner corners of your eyes? Nothing, as Emma Roberts proves.
In case Witherspoon didn’t convince you that matching your lipstick to your outfit is totally not passé, allow Olivia Munn to dispel that notion for you as well.
King gives off a dewy winter glow and rocks two mini Dutch braids at the same Valentino event—the perfect holiday party beauty inspiration.
We’re digging Holmes’ smoky eye and pale lip combination; the straight-across brow is just the finishing touch.
The Victoria’s Secret Angel rocked a dewy, glossy look at the Airball event in Florida last week.
