Here Are the 24 Best Celebrity Halloween Beauty Looks

Updated 11/01/18

While spotting celebrity beauty looks and trends is literally in our job description, it feels like much more of a benefit than a burden. Whether it's on award show red carpets (like this year's American Music Awards) or on film sets (like Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's character makeup in A Star Is Born), looking at celeb hair and makeup is the easiest way to make inspiration strike in your own beauty routine.

That holds true especially on Halloween, which is when celebs come out in droves sporting some exceptionally wild hair and makeup. This year, the looks ranged from cute and kitschy to dark and spooky (think Paris Hilton in a holographic unicorn costume compared to Kaia Gerber in an all-black punk-rock ensemble). So whether you're in need of some last-minute inspiration or you just want to recap the best looks of Halloween 2018, keep scrolling to see 24 of our favorite celeb costumes.

Bella Hadid and The Weeknd had one of the best couples costumes this year. They dressed up as Lydia Deetz and Beetlejuice from the titular Halloween movie starring Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton. We have to say, their makeup is spot-on—everything from Hadid's spiky bangs to The Weeknd's hollow eyes and green face makeup.

Bella's sister, Gigi, kept it classic by painting half her face with orange and black paint as a jack o' lantern. We like the little stitch detail that outlines the paint. As with anything, a good Halloween makeup look is all in the details.

Makeup artist Daniel Sallstrom posted this video of Kate Moss to his Instagram account, captioning it, "Got to beat the ultimate mother #KateMoss for Halloween." She's the scariest (yet chicest) vampire we've ever seen. Who knew blood-red eyeliner would look so good?

Nicky Hilton Rothschild dressed up as her sister, Paris. Her costume was a genius re-creation of Paris's iconic 21st birthday outfit, complete with a drape-front minidress, choker, and tiara. When you're a celebrity, you can simultaneously poke fun of your sibling while being pop culturally relevant.

Kendall Jenner attended the Casamigos Halloween party (thrown by Rande Gerber and George Clooney) in Las Vegas while wearing a sheer nightie, pink makeup, and a very '60s beehive hairstyle. She was a "Fembot" from the Austin Powers movie.

Jenner's sister, Kourtney Kardashian, also dressed up as a character from Austin Powers (head to her Instagram to see). Our favorite of her costumes, however, is this one, in which she dressed up as Ariana Grande. Long, high ponytail? Check. Minidress? Check. Knee-high socks? Check. Smoky cat eye? Check.

Here, Cindy Crawford is pictured alongside her husband, Rande Gerber, and friend George Clooney. The men dressed up as pilots while she opted to transform herself into a '60s flight attendant. Click through to see her dramatic cat eye and orange lip.

Crawford's other Halloween costume was this '80s rocker look, which seems to be inspired by Debbie Harry, the lead singer of Blondie. Spot her dramatic smoky eye and shimmery pink lipstick.

Meanwhile, Crawford's look-alike daughter, Kaia Gerber, dressed up as another '80s music icon, Joan Jett. Faux tattoos, a black spiky wig, and charcoal eye shadow were the three key aspects of her look.

Zoë Kravitz took a fun twist on the classic vampire costume. She dressed up as a vampire in the morning (since night is actually morning for those nocturnal creatures). She paired her bloody lip with a fresh face of makeup and a towel wrapped over head. The coffee mug and newspaper were also a nice touch.

Victoria Justice transformed herself into a stunningly sinister Ouija board. Aside from the spookiness (and the realism) of the whole look, we're fans of her bold faux lashes and inky black lipstick.

How spot-on is Ashley Greene's Robin Hood makeup look? The brown lipstick, black nose, and white face paint lent an animalistic quality to her face, while her already feline-shaped eyes were played up with bold lashes and precise liner.

Beyoncé took Halloween as a chance to honor singer Toni Braxton. She donned a cropped pixi cut and a '90s brick-brown lip and called herself Phoni Braxton. It's so good.

Beyoncé's other Halloween costume was just as good. She and husband Jay-Z paid homage to Olympic track-and-field icons. Beyoncé dressed as Florence Griffith Joyner, while Jay-Z dressed as Tommie Smith. They even re-created some of the track stars' most famous poses.

Ariana Grande's makeup artist Patrick Ta posted this image of her Halloween makeup on Instagram. Her fiery red lipstick and eye shadow are gorgeous and devilish. Is it just us, or does she look amazing with short dark hair?

Padma Lakshmi went as Natalie Portman's character in the psychological thriller Black Swan. We're awestruck by her stage-inspired makeup, which included a poison-berry lip color and graphic, feathered eye makeup.

For Halloween 2018, Halsey decided to go as Poison Ivy, the supervillain from DC comic books. A red wig, red brows, and bright green eyeshadow were the name of the game. We must say, Halsey looks incredible with red hair. Maybe this will convince her to make the color permanent?

Kylie Jenner enlisted her daughter, Stormi, for an endearing mother-daughter costume. The pair wore matching pink butterfly wings along with matching pink outfits. Spot Jenner's butterfly-emblazoned heels and Stormi's butterfly hair clip. The Kardashian/Jenner family is nothing if not detail-oriented.

Today, Jenner revealed her latest Halloween costume on Instagram. Yup, she's a life-size Barbie, wearing a hot pink bodysuit, blonde curls, and pink eyeshadow (we think the latter looks a lot like the shades from her namesake Eyeshadow Bundle #1 $63). Pink must be her color of choice this year, considering she wore all pink to her 21st birthday party back in August, and since then dyed her hair light pink.

Much like her younger sister, Khloe Kardashian was also posing with her daughter. Instead of butterflies or Barbies, Khloe and baby True chose something a little more fierce.  We love Kardashian's tiger makeup and heavily-lined feline eyes. How cute is baby True as a tiger cub?

Now for the biggest costume reveal of them all. Kim Kardashian-West posted this picture of herself and her famous sisters to Instagram mere hours ago. They're all wearing real Victoria's Secret lingerie and wings that the brand let them "borrow" for the night.

Earlier in October, we predicted that fairy makeup would make a big comeback this Halloween, and Jenna Dewan confirmed our prediction. Here she is wearing the shiniest berry lip that we ever did see, along with a pink wig, iridescent eye shadow, and swipe of pink blush. We're obsessed.

Lupita Nyong'o went as Dionne from Clueless. She has the nose ring, the white-and-black hat, and the giant cellphone. We must say, it's a perfect re-creation. Her caption was also perfect. She kept it simple, just writing, "As If!"

How epic is this Hocus Pocus recreation by the HAIM sisters? The 3 sister each dressed up as a different Sanderson witch, before putting on an "I Put A Spell On You" performance. It's one of the most beloved Halloween movies of all time, so we appreciate their commitment to the costume.
