The A-list braved the near-sub-zero weather in London tonight to bring us some stellar beauty looks on the BAFTAs red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall. While La La Land is tipped to win big, on the red carpet there was an array of winners in the beauty department, from Thandie Newton's on-trend vampy lip to Emily Blunt's perfect cat eye. In London, we tend to wear our beauty a little undone, and thankfully there's plenty of beauty inspiration you can take from the night, be it the effortless hairstyles or the pretty-as-a-picture makeup looks.
We also spied Downton Abbey star Jessica Brown Findlay sporting the hairstyle that we have pipped to be big news come summer (it's been all over the front rows at New York Fashion Week this weekend).

Emma Stone nails chic, understated red carpet beauty once again with this winning look. The blue-toned rose lipstick paired with the dark forest green liner flick complements both her hair colour and skin tone to perfection.
Bryce Dallas Howard proves that a braided topknot can look just as great for a special occasion as it does off duty. The slick of matte red lipstick adds instant glam.
Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley shows how anyone can pull of a warm rust-toned eye shadow: Just load up on black liner and lashings of mascara to define the eyes.
Hairstylist Robert Vetica said, "I kept the hair freshly undone and coifed away from her face." Vetica used Leonor Greyl Mousse Au Lotus Volumatrice (£26) to give the hair volume and bounce before blow-drying it back from the face. The hair was then tonged, before being broken up with the fingers and a little styling cream. Vetica finished the style with a mist of Leonor Greyl Voluforme (£15).
Young Brit star Ella Purnell gives us a lesson in how to pull off the less-is-more look. Her glossy brunette hair has been pulled back into a low-slung chignon with tendrils falling free while her makeup is low-key chic: super tonal, all nudes and blushes, with just a hint of liquid black liner.
We're obsessed with Naomie Harris's whimsical dress. When wearing something this pretty, the makeup needs to be soft and ethereal too. Enter plenty of sheeny, metallic, frosty, eye shadow, subtle highlighter and pink pastel lips. To define the eyes but not look too harsh, a charcoal shadow has been smudged and blended along the upper lash line.
A very subtle nod to the '60s, Felicity Jones's hair has a prim centre part with just a hint of retro volume at the crown.
We're obsessed with this red lip colour on Viola Davis, while her bob is making us consider taking a trip to the hairdresser, stat.
Julie Stiles proves that when you're making a statement with your dress—plunging neckline, gorgeous embroidery—it's best to juxtapose it by keeping your hair and makeup looking low-key and effortless.
Fashion designer Millie Mackintosh shows how the classics—a chignon and a red lip—are sometimes the best choice for a glittering affair. To get the look: Charles Worthington brand ambassador Ken O'Rourke pulled the hair into a low pony, split into three sections, which he then braided before pinning it in place and misting with Charles Worthington Diamond Shine All Over Gloss Spray (£7).
Emily Blunt's soft twisted updo and incredible eyeliner flick perfectly mirror the swirling, intricate design on her gown.
Model and actress Anya Taylor-Joy's beauty look is almost regal with the low, sweeping centre-parted ponytail paired with the intricate jewelled neckline on her dress. As with the other stars wearing standout gowns, Taylor-Joy has played up her assets, large eyes and pretty pink lips, rather than making a statement with her makeup look.
Downton Abbey star Jessica Findlay Brown has opted for an understated yet sultry bronze-hued makeup look for the night. Her peroxide-blonde bob with its worn-in roots just confirms that her look is the coolest of the night. She's also ahead of the curve since we're predicting this hairstyle will be one of the summer's most popular.
This look is a lesson in how to update a classic beauty look for modern times. The deep side part, classic waves and scarlet lip are all red carpet classics, but here Granger has mussed up her curls for a beachy, lived-in look while her lipstick is super modern thanks to its matte finish. We're also obsessed with her gorgeous glowing complexion; whatever she's having we want it.
O'Rourke curled the hair using a large barrel tong, before leaving to cool. He then brushed the curls through and misted with Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray (£7).
Lancôme ambassador Taylor Hill walked the red carpet with a seriously covetable look: the perfect feline flick and the most gorgeous rose-hued lip colour. All Lancôme, naturally.
