Benefit might be a brand that's all about brows, but it has a number of cult classic products that belong to other makeup categories too. Take, for example, its POREfessional Face Primer ($31). It’s been a long-standing fan favorite since it does a little bit of everything. It nourishes the skin with vitamin E, preps it for makeup, provides a super-smooth base, and minimizes the appearance of pores. (Keep in mind it does all of that before you even apply your foundation or concealer).
The brand just announced a brand-new iteration of this product. It has all the same pore-diminishing and makeup-priming benefits of the old version, but with a soft radiance formula that visibly brightens and blurs the complexion. Let us introduce you to Benefit's New POREfessional Pearl Primer ($31).
This version of the Benefit primer has the same exact lightweight, silky, and oil-free formula of the last one. It also disguises pores just as effectively. However, while the last one had a beige color and somewhat flat finish, this one is pearl pink and slightly shimmery. It diffuses light to bring a soft focus to the skin (we're hoping it mimics the effect of low light and/or candlelight and makes skin look glowy and even).
In other words, it's all about discouraging dullness and boosting radiance, which is kind of exactly what we need in the winter when the cold temperatures and dry air can suck the life out of our skin, rendering it dry and dull.
This primer is currently available for purchase at Sephora, Ulta, and the brand's website right in time for holiday gifting. If you know of someone who loves the original formula, this might be this year's perfect stocking stuffer.
