There’s no denying that meditation is having a major moment in the wellness community. It's even recently been proven more powerful than pain medication. But, the many benefits aside, that doesn't mean it’s exactly easy to let go and sit still for long periods of time in the middle of our busy and demanding lives. Whether you are new to meditation or have been practicing it for years, we can all use a little help calming the mind from time to time. In the spirit of a new year and new routines, we scouted five beauty products to help limit distractions.
Using a hair tie or elastic hair band, move all hair away from your face.
This might be the most important tip. Whether it’s a foam mat like Gaiam’s yoga mat or a folded blanket, comfort is key when you will be sitting still for long periods of time.
Any white candle will work, but we love any excuse to indulge with Diptyque. Just be sure it’s lit in a safe spot.
When you have trouble relaxing, sometimes a natural essential oil or even fresh lavender can do wonders to calm the mind and body.
For those that live in a big, noisy city or just with roommates or family, it can help to play some white noise to drown out any traffic or voices that may take away from your meditation practice.
