My thoughts on nude lipstick are probably best illustrated by my daily makeup routine. Ironically, in order to create my most natural-looking pout—all the while giving my smallish top lip some extra oomph—I use no less than four products: liner, two different neutral lipsticks, and highlighter. I'll be the first to point out that it's excessive, but given that most nude lip colors seemed to be designed as one-shade-suits-all, it's honestly the superior option. My definition of "nude" is barely-there and believably natural, not obvious and one-dimensional. So it's an immense relief that finally—finally—BareMinerals has put forth an extensive collection that treats nude lipstick as it should be treated: with the same scope and variety as foundation.
Gen Nude is a 60-shade collection of just-neutral lip colors in four different finishes. The infinite color and texture possibilities were designed to mix and match for a truly custom finish, enough to appease even the most demanding lipstick aficionados (ahem, ahem). Feast your eyes:
First up is the collection's Radiant Lipstick, which boasts a creamy finish and slightly sheer, buildable color.
Many glosses have a tendency to dry out lips, but this formula was crafted with avocado butter and botanical extracts to do just the opposite. Pearl powder gives every shade extra luster.
Lip Kit fans, take note: This range of neutrals boasts the same liquid-to-matte texture.
And finally, a seamless lip liner rounds out the collection. Wear it alone for a little extra definition or pair it with another Gen Nude formula for long-lasting wear.
The entire range is available now at all bareMinerals retailers, as well as the brand's website.
