Just last week, CoverGirl announced a new brand ambassador in the genius actress, writer, and producer Issa Rae. Now, after a short seven days, the brand is back at it again, welcoming a brand-new celeb into its easy, breezy, beautiful ranks.
This time, it's Ayesha Curry. "Ayesha’s joyful energy, big personality, and strong viewpoints and perspectives on the world around her embody CoverGirl’s philosophy of empowering women to fearlessly and relentlessly pursue their passions and boldly express themselves to the world," the brand said in a statement.
You might know Ayesha Curry from her hit show on The Food Network, Ayesha's Home Kitchen. She's also released a book, The Seasoned Life (which also happens to be a national best seller). Now, she's taking on the beauty industry, starring in the brand's new mascara campaign.
The new mascara is yet to be released. It's called the Peacock Flare Mascara and promises to deliver bold, fanned-out, and dramatic lashes in only two coats. It's set to launch sometime in November (until then, stick to the classics like CoverGirl's Lashblast Mascara, $6).
Hopefully, though, we can get a sneak peek of Curry's ad campaign before that. "My philosophy is all about seeking joy and creating balance in life. I've shared a lot about how I do this with food, family and faith, and now—through my partnership with CoverGirl—I want to share how makeup helps create those moments of happiness, confidence and self-expression," she says.
We, for one, are so happy. In the past, CoverGirl seemed to stick to welcoming models, pop stars, and actresses into its ad campaigns. Now, though, it seems to be branching out to include a more diverse set of ambassadors across a variety of different industries (and we're here for it). These new ambassadors, represent a new generation of women who are empowering themselves through their own career successes. We can't wait to see what Curry brings to the new role.
