About The Brand: Founded in 1997 by celebrity brow guru Anastasia Soare, Anastasia Beverly Hills is one of the top beauty brands for eyebrow products and more. Since expanding from brow products to a full-range selection of beauty products, ABH continues to be highly sought-after by consumers and professional makeup artists.
About My Eyebrows: I love a full, bushy brow
It’s no surprise to anyone who knows me that I love a thick, full, and bushy eyebrow. I have been maintaining my eyebrows for years with different growth serums, pencils, pomades, powders, and more. I have a great shape going on at the moment and I get my eyebrows laminated and tinted every 5-7 weeks.
I have medium-toned brown eyebrow hair and prefer for my eyebrows to have a clean shape along with nice color. I also use gels and clear pomades to brush my brow hairs up and keep them in place. Brands that I reach for often when it comes to my eyebrows are Benefit, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Milk Makeup.
How to Apply: An angled brush is best
Applying this eyebrow powder is pretty straightforward: you’re going to want to use an angled eyebrow brush that also has a spoolie attached to the other end of it. Anastasia Beverly Hills sells this brush separately from their brow powder, and this is what I used to apply it with. You can dip your angled brush in both colors or just one, and then in an upward motion, lightly apply the powder to create natural hair-like strokes from the beginning of your brows, through the arch, and towardsthe outer tail.
I prefer to use a brow pomade or gel before brow powder to brush my hairs upward and keep them in place so I can see exactly where color needs to be deposited. Using a brow pomade in conjunction with this brow powder will elevate your shape and create a fuller-looking brow than using the powder by itself. I applied the ABH Brow Freeze Pomade first to my brows to secure them in place and followed up with the brow powder.
The Results: Nicely shaped and natural
The powder applies easily, and my favorite thing about it is how buildable the color is. You can start small and keep going versus depositing too much color from the beginning and needing to start over.
I love the natural color enhancement this powder gave my eyebrows, especially when my tint faded and I needed some help with making my brows darker, but not extreme.
I love the natural color enhancement this powder gave my eyebrows, especially when my tint faded and I needed some help with making my brows darker, but not extreme. The powder lasted through the day on my brows and I did not notice smearing or smudging of any kind.
The Value: Worth it
While $23 might feel steep at first glance for such a small product, what you’re getting in this portable compact is worth the money when you break down cost per use. The powder is dense enough that you don’t need to use much, and it has two shades in one, making it more versatile than other brow products.
