With hard-to-pass-up discounts on everything from facial steamers to mascaras, the beauty and wellness deals are worth taking advantage of. Plus, be sure to keep an eye out for other retailers like Walmart, Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond—all of whom are holding matching sales on June 21 and 22.
If you’re not a Prime member yet, you can still sign up for a free 30-day Amazon Prime membership, then get shopping! Be sure to check out Amazon’s Handmade Makers section this Prime Day, too.

The two-day sales event first debuted in July 2015, and continued as a mid-July summer event through 2019. While Prime Day 2020 was postponed from July to October 13 to 14 due to the global pandemic, Prime Day 2021 is back up in Q2.

The annual Amazon shopping two-day event features jaw-dropping discounts on everything from home goods, fitness gear, electronics, beauty essentials, and beyond, and is only available to Amazon Prime Members (a mere 142 million subscribers and counting).
How Do You Become an Amazon Prime Member?
Amazon Prime Membership is a monthly subscription that grants members Amazon’s free and expedited delivery options (sometimes as quick as same day), along with access to movies and shows on Prime Video, digital books via Prime Reading, try-before-you-buy perks through Prime Wardrobe, and more. Amazon Prime membership costs $12.99 per month or $119 per year and you can sign up anytime here and score a 30-day free trial membership.
What Categories Are Best to Shop on Prime Day?
While Amazon devices like Kindles, Alexas, and Echo smart speakers are known to feature some of the most eye-catching deep discounts during Prime Day’s pasts, shoppers can also expect to see mega-savings on cookware, electronics (like headphones and televisions), and beauty tools (like hair dryers and skincare devices).
“Amazon’s Prime Day is key for beauty fans that are waiting to make a bigger purchase on some of the biggest brand names in beauty,” shares Brittney H. Levine, On-Air Style & Trend Expert. “I always wait to buy my hair tools and accessories like makeup brushes and rollers, which have consistently shown to be up to 30 percent off,” she says. Other high-ticket beauty favorites to keep an eye on: fragrance, skincare treatments, and hair care including masks, shampoos, and conditioners.
