When it comes to music festival style, anything goes—and no one takes this to heart quite as much as the crowd at Afropunk in New York City. This year's fest, which featured amazing acts like Lauryn Hill, Grace Jones, Willow Smith, and Lion Babe, was one of the coolest we've ever seen: Concertgoers stepped out in colorful, no holds barred hair and makeup looks, providing the ultimate in free-spirited beauty inspiration. With this in mind, we picked out 13 of the most badass looks from the bunch. Keep scrolling to see them all!
A stripe of blue lipstick takes a bold color choice to the next level. Do you dare? Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Echo ($20) will stay sharp for hours.
We're in love with every aspect of Indigo Monet's look, from the colors woven into her braids to her septum ring. To get that deep, raspberry lip, apply a bit of NARS' Lipstick in Empress ($27) to the center of your lips, and smudge outwards with your finger to achieve that same, undone look.
Willow Smith demonstrates that you don't need to necessarily choose between a colorful eye or lip. Get her neon pout with Sephora' Color Lip Last in Forever Fuschia ($14).
Note: Pastel brows are a great way to tackle the candy-colored hair trend with way less commitment. Do it at home with a semi-permanent hair tint, such as Ion's Color Brilliance ($5). (Our tip: apply a thick coating of shea butter around you brows before dyeing to avoid skin staining.)
