In our second installment of our What's In Her Makeup Bag series, we take a peek inside major model Jessica Stam's beauty kit. The professional beauty shares her essentials (the right combination of tinted moisturizer and foundation) and reveals what she skips (eye shadow) when she's doing her own makeup!
"These are great to have on hand in the summer to reduce shine when you don't feel like using powder." Sadly, these limited edition papers--designed by Harley Viera-Newton--are sold out, but Sephora Collection's Matte Blotting Papers ($8) or Tatcha's Original Beauty Papers ($12) should do the trick.
"Instead of blush, I like to use MAC's contour powder to create definition."
In addition to mixing this product with Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer, Stam also uses it to cover imperfections. "I don't use concealer," she says. "If there's something I need to cover, I just double up on foundation. I think it's important for your skin to be able to breathe."
"Sometimes you have to mix different shades to find one that's right for you. That's why I mix Laura Mercier's Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer in Porcelain with a touch of Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk Foundation in 5.5. I like the texture of the combined products."
When it comes to curling her lashes, Stam reaches for this classic tool from Shiseido.
Stam uses the brow powder duo with an angled brow brush that has a spooley on one end.
"I find it's easier to get a good brow shape with a powder--as opposed to a pencil--and it looks more natural that way."
"I love these lipsticks because they are creamy, last all day, and the colors are straight from the runway. Plus, they actually make my lips softer over time!" Stam wears Heavenly, shown above, during the daytime and likes either Hot or Spellbound for evening.
