Side Part

Hollywood embraces S/S 13's first big beauty trend!
Side Part
Most runway beauty looks need to be interpreted with a grain of salt--to wit: graphic eyeliner, dreadlocks, fake tattoos--so when we find one we can wear in real life, without watering it down, we don't hesitate. Not surprising then that the deep side part, the first of last week's trends to hit the real world, has started popping up everywhere. It's an easy change that can wholly transform your look.Inspiration
You can rock this look, which first appeared on the S/S 13 runways at Jonathan Saunders, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Acne, and Marc Jacobs, with any hair length or texture. Nicole Richie and Emma Stone are already parting their locks deep to the right side of their heads while pulling back the length. Emma Watson shows off a stick-straight look (another big spring trend) while Leigh Lezark and Cara Delevingne let their natural texture take center stage.

Get the Look
Even though this style's pretty easy, we have a few tricks that will insure a polished look. Using a lightweight leave-in volumizing formula like Sexy Hair Concepts Root Pump Volumizing Spray Mousse ($17), prep wet hair and then blow dry with hair parted on the side opposite from where you want your part to live. This might sound counterintuitive, but it'll add lift and volume. After drying, switch the part using a fine-tooth comb and set with hairspray if you have fine hair (Pantene Pro-V Volume Aerosol Hairspray for Fine Hair ($4) is one good option), or shine spray if it's thicker (try the Glossing Sheer Shine Mist ($25) by Fekkai). Pull the rest back or rough it up with your favorite salt spray--either way, the deep side part will guarantee you'll look polished.
