The vibrant shades so often spotted in spring's prints and, more recently, on summer nails, have made their way onto eyelids this season. At Peter Som, Tom Pecheux said he wanted the girls to look as though children had done their makeup-albeit expertly. "Children do everything for no reason," he said. "And when you give them color, they make the most beautiful pictures." So he painted blues, pinks, and oranges on top of yellow lids using M.A.C.'s Pro Paint Sticks for an almost French Impressionist look. Meanwhile at Rebecca Minkoff, bright blue shadow lived where highlighter usually reigns, in the corner of each eye, while Ohne Titel was almost the opposite: the outline of a cat-eye was drawn in either orange or blue to mimic Flora Gill and Alexa Adams' spring collection. Finally, at Creatures of the Wind, the Nars team attributed their hot pink eyelids to Japanese anime. Come spring, your lips aren't the only place to make a color statement.
