New York temperatures are well below freezing and monsoon-like rains are drenching L.A. (what's good, El Niño?), but we're dreaming of sunnier days—as is L’Oréal, apparently. The company just unveiled a product that could completely revolutionize the way we approach sun protection—not that you'd ever tell just by looking at it.
See that cutesy heart sticker? It's not a Band-Aid for the toddler set, but a high-tech, adhesive device that measures your UV ray exposure, warning you when it's time to find some shade. It's basically a sunburn warning alarm. Genius.
It's simple: You apply the patch when heading outdoors, and when it starts to change colors, take a snapshot with your phone on the device's accompanying app. The app instantly analyzes the photo and tells you if you're getting a little too toasty. Plus, it's reusable—and quite a cute accessory for your festival-wear, no?
Look for the stickers to hit the market later this year. And remember that you'll still need to lather up on traditional SPF, no matter the time of year. (FWIW, Supergoop's Defense Refresh Setting Mist, $28, is quite convenient.)
