Why False Lashes Are the Key to French Girl Holiday Glam

French girl beauty is a never-ending source of inspiration for us. The easy, laid-back approach is one we've always been fans of, and one New Yorker's source of holiday beauty inspo is It girl Louise Follain. Everything from her wispy bangs to her plush lips and doe-eyed stare reminds us of the ultimate French beauty icon Jane Birkin, and getting the look is easier than we imagined.

This holiday season, Glossier's Eva Alt writes that she's going for her "most glam self," and the key to her beauty look is a set of false lashes. "Jane-Birkin lookalike Louise Follain has these incredibly dark, defined, Twiggy-esque lashes, and they are the focus of my beauty look," she explains. While most of us would add a few extra coats of mascara to achieve the look, Eva opts for a bold set of lashes instead: "Luckily for me and my undefined lower lashline, Nars makes a natural-looking set expressly for that—which I now wear for any and all festive occasions." The subtle lash strip gives off the perfect amount of glam without looking too done up—a French girl no-no—but still looks totally effortless.
