Rag & Bone's Bringing the Scrunchie Back. Would You Wear It?

David Neville and Marcus Wainwright showed rag & bone’s pre-fall 2014 collection in New York on Friday and with it—scrunchies. It’s safe to say that anyone hanging onto the ‘80s hair accessory officially ditched their collection in 2002 when Carrie Bradshaw told Berger, “No woman who works at W magazine and lives on Perry Street would be caught dead at a hip downtown restaurant wearing a scrunchie.”

The thing is, the woman who works at W magazine, lives in Manhattan’s West Village, and eats at hip downtown restaurants, is definitely taking styling cues from rag & bone (if not Marc Jacobs, who showed a much fluffier version on his spring 2010 runway—a formal scrunchie, if you will). If anything can lift the Carrie curse, it’s a stamp of approval from one of New York’s hottest design duos. Are you ready—and willing—to embrace the oh-so-practical hair accessory?
