And the Pantone Color of the Year for 2015 Is...

Pantone has officially announced its 2015 Color of the Year, and the lucky shade in question is... Marsala!

Don't worry if you didn't automatically know what that means. Marsala is a "naturally robust and earthy" rusty red, much like the fortified wine behind its namesake, explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. Eiseman says Marsala "enriches our mind, body, and soul, exuding confidence and stability," and that "the tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal, while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness."

To us, the deep color calls to mind an interesting mix of red clay and cranberry that we're really digging, especially for the winter months ahead.

We can't wait to see how this translates to more stunning lipstick shades in the beauty world.

Do you like Marsala? Tell us what you think of the new color of the year in the comments below!
