The Ordinary Is Releasing Another Foundation, and It's "Thinner Than Water"

Kaitlyn McLintock

We still remember the day that we fell in love with The Ordinary. It was a rather typical day. There we were typing away at our desks when suddenly news broke that the brand was selling high-quality facial serums and oils for less than $10 a piece. We rushed to its website, we ordered, and then they arrived. It was at that moment we knew we could count on The Ordinary.

Fast-forward to the present, and we've already tried a steady rotation of its skincare products. We've also tried its two foundation formulas: the Serum Foundation ($7) and the Coverage Foundation ($7). The former is a moderate coverage formula with a serum feel, whereas the latter is highly pigmented and spreadable. Now, though, the brand is coming out with a third foundation—and this one sounds especially interesting because it's super thin and lightweight. In fact, it's "thinner than water."

The official brand Instagram posted this short teaser video, captioning it "Watercolours are coming." It later followed up with a short Q&A to reveal a little bit more about the new product. According to the brand, the foundation is technically an "oil-free, silicone-free skin tint" that will be super lightweight. In fact, the video was produced using the actual product, so they're truly as lightweight and thin as the video makes them seem.

The Ordinary wasn't short on humor, either. When someone asked about the cost, the brand wrote, "umm... The Ordinary is written on them." So it's safe to say we can expect an incredibly affordable price tag. After all, like we mentioned before, the other foundations are each less than $10. The brand hasn't hinted at an upcoming release, only saying that we can expect to see them soon. For more sneak peeks and info about these skin tints, keep track of its official Instagram account since that's usually where it makes its announcements.
